Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is sick of seeing stories about her troubled family life splashed across the front pages – because her childhood was stable and happy.

Meester was born while her mother was serving a prison sentence for involvement in a drugs ring that smuggled shipments of marijuana into the U.S. from Jamaica. Meester’s father and aunt also served time in jail in connection with the smuggling operation.

However, the actress is adamant the tabloid press got the story wrong by insisting she was brought into the world behind bars – accusing the media of twisting the facts.

She tells Britain’s Glamour magazine, “Leighton Meester was born in a hospital. And, no (my parents) didn’t live a life of crime while I was a kid. We had big Thanksgiving dinners, with all of us at the table. I mean, how normal can you get?”

Leighton Meester is annoyed unsuitable people keep falling in love with her.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress has revealed her new song – Robin Thicke duet ‘Somebody to Love’ – is about her struggle to find a boyfriend now that she is famous.

She explained: “It is about what’s going on in my life and I think everyone can relate to it. It’s about being crazy, busy, young and running round and it is really, really hard to find somebody to love.

“People love you but you don’t really love them. It’s about that struggle of finding someone.”

Last month, Leighton denied rumours she was dating her co-star Chace Crawford.

She insisted the pair were just friends, claiming reports they were spotted kissing were untrue.

Earlier this year, the 23-year-old star, who plays high school queen bee Blair Waldorf in the hit US TV show, admitted her taste in men is similar to that of her alter ego.

She said: “I think guys who are rebels and make their own rules are appealing. I don’t want to tame anybody. I want them to be dark and bad.

“Guys who are a little bad – and by bad, I mean they’re not like constantly around – I consider gold. Guys who are unavailable are actually a dream come true for me because I’m unavailable all the time. It’s great they’re not down your throat.”

About a month ago, Ed got a huge feather tattooed on the back of his left arm. What significance does the new ink have for the 22-year-old British actor? “My mate and I got it together,” Ed exclusively tells JustJared.com. “He got an American eagle feather from a Native American and it means a lot to us. This is a world exclusive, Jared!” (He then proceeded to pat my shoulder in his charming Ed way.)

What does the eagle feather symbolize to Ed? “America has been good to me!”

Ed Westwick grabs brunch with his girlfriend, Gossip Girl co-star Jessica Szohr, at Bubby’s Restaurant Bar-Bakery in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City on Sunday afteroon (October 4).

It was incorrectly reported on the Internets that Ed introduced Jessica to his parents when they in town visiting him in NYC last week. They met as early as April, if not earlier!

Nevertheless, the two couples lunched at Tortilla Flats in the West Village.

Also at the HBO bash were our favorite “Gossip Girls” Leighton Meester and Blake Lively, although we’re told the two pretty much stayed well away from one another and didn’t exchange any words. On the note of Meester and “Entourage” however, could this be another new couple alert?

Meester is still currently linked to beau Sebastian Stan, however, the starlet had plans to check into West Hollywood’s London Hotel in the wee hours on Sunday morning under the alias Violet Reed with “Entourage” agent Joshua LeBar.

“They aren’t a couple, they are just friends and working on a project together,” a Meester pal said, while LeBar’s manager said they are production partners but doesn’t know if they are dating.

A rep for the actress did not respond for comment.

Blake Lively taking a pause for a cause last Thursday while shooting an upcoming scene for “Gossip Girl” at NYC’s Edison Ballroom as she posed with several girls from Make a Wish Foundation. The wishful girls were expecting a photo op with Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick but until their call time, Blake, coifed in bathrobe and Uggs, would have to suffice.

“Gossip Girl” boys Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley partying alongside Brooke Shields and Becki Newton at the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 opening on Thursday night.

It was a paparazzo’s dream come true as a plethora of beautiful celebrities descended on Club Avenue in New York City last night (September 14).

Taking a break from their “Gossip Girl” duties, Ed Westwick and his girlfriend Jessica Szohr were spotted arriving at the Manhattan hotspot, looking to cut loose a bit.

Also in the house were Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba, who graciously stopped to greet a few fans before getting their swerve on.

Following their concert at the Nassau Coliseum, Kings of Leon stopped by for a few drinks, as did hunky heartthrob Chace Crawford, and Alessandra Ambrosio with her boyfriend Jamie Mazur.  Representing the sporty side of things, LeBron James even made an appearance.

Leighton Meester was spotted yesterday casually strolling around the meat packing district of New York. She was with a mystery friend.

Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick shows off two brand new tattoos at a tattoo parlor, presumably in New York City.

One is a large feather covering the back of his left arm/tricep area. The other one is a topless pin-up girl with a red cloth wrapped around her waist. On top of the girl are the words “She’s a pin up.”
